Vacation Bible School is coming back

Please mark your calendars for the week of August 9-13, 2010. Each year St. Mary Magdalene offers Vacation Bible School to its youngest members. Children 3 years through rising fifth graders can come and enjoy a week of fun, friendship and learning about Jesus. VBS runs from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. during the week of August 9 - 13.You don’t have to have children in Sunday School to volunteer. We need help with painting, prop making, decorating, food preparation, crafts, games, team leaders and so much more. Registration information to follow at a later date. To volunteer or for any questions, please contact Marianne Strimer at 941-907-2831. Join the fun; volunteer to help and sign your children up to have an experience they will cherish for a lifetime!

Children’s Chapel

Children’s Chapel is offered during the 10:00 a.m. Service, through the summer months, July-August.  It begins with the sequence hymn and the children rejoin their families at Peace. Children’s Chapel is the place for multi-age group celebration of our faith and teachings of the Episcopal Church. The children worship with their peers through bible stories, age appropriate homily and songs of praise.

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered for children 3 years through 5th Grade during the school year. Parents take their children to their classrooms before the service begins and their children rejoin them after the Peace. Relationships are built and scripture is taught in a small group atmosphere facilitated through teaching teams at each level. We use The Anglican Edition Curriculum. This curriculum follows the liturgical year of the Episcopal Church.

nursery

Nursery is provided from 9:00a.m. through 11:00p.m. Any child between birth and 3 years old is welcome to attend. During the Sunday School, the nursery children will learn about God through stories and songs.

Quiet Quilt

An area with soft toys and books is offered in the sanctuary. We realize that some parents would like their children to stay in the service. Please feel free to keep your children at your chairs if you would like. This area is offered as an alternative to make you and your family as comfortable as possible. Please feel free to utilize it as needed.

Volunteers

Our entire Children’s Ministry is volunteer based. All of our volunteers working with the children have background checks and Safeguarding God’s Children classes. We always welcome new volunteers. To offer your services call the parish office or contact Marianne Strimer directly at 941-907-2831.
